The acquisition marks a steep discount from the home’s original 2017 asking price of $75 million and its most recent $43 million listing in October 2025, making the deal one of the region’s most notable luxury transactions in recent years.
The purchase closed in December, just ahead of California’s Jan. 1, 2026, cutoff tied to proposed ballot measures aimed at imposing a billionaire wealth tax.
Once considered the most expensive listing ever to hit the Lake Tahoe market, the estate blends extreme privacy with direct lake access, positioning it among the most significant residential compounds in the area.
