Michael Kors Cuts Price of Oceanfront Fire Island Home to $6 Million

Fashion designer Michael Kors is looking to sell his secluded Fire Island home, cutting the asking price to $6 million after listing it for $6.25 million.

Kors and his husband, Lance Le Pere, purchased the oceanfront property for $950,000 in 2001.

They then enlisted renowned architect Scott Bromley to create a relaxed coastal getaway inspired by Parrot Cay, Big Sur, and Amangiri.

Hidden within the tiny Water Island community between Fire Island Pines and Davis Park, Kors’ property occupies one of just 48 homes neighboring the protected Fire Island National Seashore.

Inside Kors’ Modern Coastal Home

Kors’ compound is divided between a one-bedroom main residence tucked within the dunes and a separate four-bedroom guest house connected by a winding stone pathway through the sand.

The main house serves as the owner’s private space, with spa-inspired bathrooms on the lower level and an open-concept living area upstairs where floor-to-ceiling windows frame Atlantic views.

The guest house functions as the property’s social hub, featuring multiple bedrooms, lots of indoor gathering areas, expansive sun decks, an outdoor kitchen, bar, and a custom Gunite swimming pool.

Throughout both homes, European oak flooring, whitewashed cedar walls, custom wood cabinetry, teak sink basins, and handcrafted stone surfaces add to the coastal design.

Final Thoughts

With its secluded oceanfront setting and thoughtfully designed interiors, Michael Kors and Lance Le Pere’s Fire Island home stands among the island’s most luxurious private residences.

After more than two decades of ownership, the couple is now ready to pass the property on to its next owner, closing a long chapter in the home’s history.

If it sells near its $6 million asking price, the estate will rank among the most expensive homes ever sold on Fire Island, further cementing its place among the island’s most notable properties.
